Head of the Class would like to welcome Victoria Herrera as our new educational consultant. Mrs. Herrera is a former Associate Director of Admissions at Texas Christian University. She has dedicated over 19 years to higher education and has worked to recruit and assist prospective students seeking guidance through the college admission process. Mrs. Herrera’s experience includes working with students attending private and public high schools as well as home school learning environments. She received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and a master’s degree from Texas Christian University.

Victoria is excited to begin working with Head of the Class students and their parents to navigate the college application process. Call or email the office to schedule your appointment.

We are now open and seeing students for individual and group tutoring!  Please call the office to schedule an appointment.

As the Corona Virus continues to have an impact on our community, we want our families to know that we are taking proactive and necessary precautions to ensure our students’ well-being. While school is suspended, we will be offering small group workshops containing five students or less throughout the day. These workshops will be especially beneficial for our elementary students. Additionally, we will still be prepping students for AP support and well as ACT/SAT in order that they maintain their academic knowledge and skills. Students who need support, especially those college students working online, can continue to receive tutorials via Skype.

We will of course continue to implement a thorough cleaning after each student and workshop, and we will take every precaution necessary to keep our students safe. And while we intend to exercise the utmost caution, we feel that some normalcy is necessary during these times.

With the kindest regards,
Lynn Ellis
Head Of The Class Academic and Counseling Center.

All of our programs are available throughout the summer. Please call us for details.

We exist to help students of all levels, from kindergarten to college, achieve their goals. Our purpose is simple: we teach our students how to overcome obstacles rather than simply finding ways around them.

Lynn Ellis, founder of Head of the Class Academic & Counseling Center, states: “It has become commonplace to modify components of educational programs for struggling learners–but modification is not education. Rather than lowering the playing field through modifications, we need to level it through adaptations and various teaching strategies.”

Each tutor at the center is an expert in his or her discipline, holding bachelor’s, master’s or even doctoral degrees. We assist students who are struggling in a variety of academic areas; by using innovative teaching and tutoring techniques, we can rapidly bring any willing student up to speed. Our motto is a simple one: failure is not an option.

Because our programs are focused on advancing students quickly, even individuals at the top of their classes can benefit from our enrichment and test preparation courses. Studies have demonstrated that individuals who work with a tutor consistently outperform their peers on standardized tests; in a competitive college admissions environment, those extra points often make a significant difference and likely lead to scholarship opportunities.

Whatever your goals, wherever you struggle–you’ll find solutions and encouragement here. No matter where you are academically, the Head of the Class is where you belong.
